Instructive & Edifying Co-Messages
By Sister Sharon Eubank & Elder Kevin W. Pearson
Our own abundant life experiences starts with way of living in sharing Heavenly Father’s vision for each of us.
Along life’s continuum we each have unique talents spiritual gifts with divine potentials unlimited capacities.
Jesus Christ the source of all joy came so we might have life with light, truth, and knowledge more abundantly.
Life’s circumstances has little to do with determining the divinely abundantly joys we each can experience.
Abundant living experiences along life’s journey makes the difference, and is predicated on what we focus on.
You can achieve, what you can conceive and believe, although can’t change the wind, but can adjust the sails.
Each of us can live a more abundant life with accepting constant invitation to repent daily and forgive freely.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and life as universal pattern and principles we need to follow.
Seeking spiritual influence guides us toward what is really important, what we need to learn, do, and focus on.
Living a spiritual joyful abundant life is God’s plan for us through the gospel of Jesus Christ covenant pathway.
What would it take for having a greater injection of gratitude?
Consider what do I need to stop doing and start doing to be more aligned with the Savior?
Prayerfully consider how to increase and expand search for living a life of knowledge, light, and truth?
The Influence of the Holy Ghost
The endless search for light and truth
Expressions of Gratitude

1. The Influence of the Holy Ghost
Seeing through lens of the spirit
Principles lead to and sustain abundant living, the Holy Ghost is the ultimate teacher. The proper perspective lens can only come through the Holy Ghost. In coming days it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding comforting and directing of the Holy Ghost. Spiritual gifts and influence of the Holy Ghost is having trust in God, centered on Jesus Christ and demonstrated through taking sacrament willingness. Lord requires a heart and willing mind, forget past, willingness to forgive ourselves and others, always have his spirit to be with us, choice prioritizes everything else. About alignment, qualifies us for his spirit, an abundant life is centered on Christ.
*What do I need to stop doing and start doing to be more aligned with the savior? Do whatever it takes to increase your spiritual capacity. As you do so increasingly have the influence of the Holy Ghost, guiding you along the path of living true to becoming our divine natures we find revealed while living the abundant life.
2. The endless search for light and truth
Spiritual Quest
Heavenly Father wants to send light. Search lifelong quest for knowledge light, and truth. Requires the Holy Ghost and makes us free to do. There is the divine and secular, with knowledge found in an academy, and the temple. The temple is sacred place where He reveals further light and truth. Seek learning, by study and faith, as you do so, will gain further light and truth, truth and light, of knowledge of things as they are, and as they are to come. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).
How liberating it would be if we really knew who we really are, how transformational would this be?
If you want to change your reality, we need to change our actions. Divine identity and capacity and potential are at stake; what if we understood the same truth about one another?
Expanding your abundantly life living
Will you prayerfully consider how to increase and expand your search for living a life of knowledge, light, and truth? The scriptures and words of living Prophets are a profound source of knowledge, light and truth. This sustained scriptures study quest will lead you into desiring living the abundant life’s next three principles, an attitude of gratitude, faith and love, and active service.
3. Expressions of Gratitude
An “Attitude of Gratitude”.
What would it take for a greater injection of gratitude for ourselves? We see President Nelson’s demonstrating by example in getting his COVID injection. Just as the vaccine helps to positively stem and eradicate the negative impacts of the virus, so by prescribing practicing expressions of gratitude by sharing what were grateful for was found can have in a research case study a positive impact within group of those in counselling. The research studies finding’s was the group who took positive actions in expression of gratitude had greater overall improvements to their positive mental health than those in a group who just did journaling of their thoughts. Something about the expressing of gratitude removes much of the toxic noxiousness encountering and struggling with at times.
#GiveThanks
Can see the wisdom in President Nelson’s providing invitation to the world for participation in sharing a daily expression of gratitude on social media #GiveThanks is an invitation to heal the world—and our hearts—through gratitude to God. Join in. Admonishing The Healing Power of Gratitude. For each of the seven remaining days leading up to Thanksgiving day:
1) Turn social media into your own gratitude journal. Post about something or someone you're grateful for. Invite others to do the same. Can continue gratitude journal strengthening your relationship to God, neighbors, and self.
2) Say a prayer of thanks. With all the chaos around you, it can be hard to recognize the hand of God in your life. Take a moment to reflect on your blessings and kneel in prayer to thank Him. Gratitude brings even more blessings.
3) Build your relationship with Jesus. Jesus Christ lived His life in thankfulness to God. You can follow His example by recognizing your blessings and expressing your gratitude.
Continued expressions of gratitude saying and showing what we are truly thankful for as give thanks is crucial Christlike character in ongoing journey of living the abundant life.
4. Choosing to have faith and love
Nephi and Zoram
Choosing to have faith and love, can be seen in displays of loyalty within friendships. Nephi was divinely given a friend in Zoram. Though not much is given in the Book of Mormon when read about Zoram, has responsibilities with keys to treasury, with access to records desired by Nephi who requests the brass plates. Zoram soon is required to make critical decision, and decides to go with Nephi and his brothers into the wilderness. Zoram’s faithfulness is rewarded as remains with and supports Nephi; as result both mutually benefit and a friendship develops amidst testing trials.
Conflicts occur as older brothers Laman and Lemuel, seek to take Nephi’s life, becoming his enemies; what a blessing Zoram’s friendship became to Nephi during these times. When Lehi blesses Zoram and his seed, he acknowledges him as a loyal friend to Nephi. Ultimately, shortly thereafter Nephi’s older brothers threatening's to take his life are escalating. Zoram is among those sided with Nephi, who is prompted by the spirit into escaping for his life by departing abruptly, uprooting and leaving. Zoram’s actions shows an expression of his faith and friendship.
Alma and Amulek (Included by Abundantly Life Living).
Choosing faith and love, and friendship may more commonly identified within another divine intervention provided companionship of Alma and Amulek. During their missionary service work together facing trials of faith, tests, tribulations, persecutions. Amidst as well supported by spirit with sustaining abundant life joys, during their ministering together. The pairing of these two as friends and disciples of Christ in preaching his gospel in faith and love.
These people they teach and we read the account as compare the word of Christ unto a seed. Using this analogy to those who have become detached from the good words of the gospel of Jesus Christ, disconnected to their structural churches, are marginalized due to coarseness of their apparel. Due to circumstances found themselves in, temporal conditions has compelled them to humble state. Are more receptive then the proud wealthy class people Alma and Amulek attempted to teach within community and share the word with. However, missionary invitation message and their fully following acceptance to plant and nourish the word comparing to a seed still proved daunting. Due to their spiritually barren state, believing unable to worship without access to church building.
Providing temporal and spiritual relatable analogy of interrelation of faith and love as divine growth continuum. Alma expresses comparing with evidences while experimenting upon the words of Christ nurtured as faith to a seed. Emphasizing how with much care, diligence, patience, long suffering, and have assurances along the way, you are rewarded for your nurturing the seed manifests by growing into a tree, and with relatable physical senses applies also spiritually how can find truthfulness of Christ’s words found in scriptures likening as tasting the sweetness and joy from faith and love, reaffirming during exercising sustainable efforts, while confirming with the bearing of real fruit. Seeking the abundant life with fundamentally foundational principles of faith and love, are reinforced in relationships and friendships along journey.
Choosing Faith and Love in friendship relationships
Friendship relationships are supported by faith and sustained by love. As love is an outgrowth of faith, also helps sustain faith. Can see relationship in scriptures how faith, hope, and charity as divine upward spiraling expressions of love are interrelated-interdependent. Choosing to have faith and love enables connecting to character and attributes of God, resulting in greater our joy as becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, actively serving our brothers and sisters.
5. Active Service
Service leads to divine perspective
Service is essence of what we have covered for living the abundant life, and critical part of what are five bedrock principles. Through Christ’s gospel principles, guiding us to abundant life, and providing proper divine perspectives. Our experiences have meaning, sharing, learning, growing together and in service we are bringing other people along with us, in this living the abundant life relationships journey.
We all make mistakes, but it is all about growth. President Nelson, is true Prophet of God, his servant and leader, urging Church members to have more realization to “let God prevail in lives”; while inspires exemplary active service to the Church and World. Scriptures, are true scripts providing profound service in offering guidance and direction for our lives. With faithful pondering, and prayerful study, we receive needed revelation and confirmation enabling our continually becoming better servants living the abundant life as we get the words of eternal life into our heart and mind.

Topic Introduction
Principles 1, 2
Principles 1, 2 Tie-in
Principles 3 - 5
Spirit is the most important teacher.
Wow! All the doctrine points that out! It’s how you treat others translates into how you are converted to Christ.
With thoughtful Insights Shared
By Sister Sheri L. Dew & Elder Scott D. Whiting
“Invite the spirit to speak to you while share message.
Invite the spirit to speak, teach, talk to you, if you haven’t already done so.
The spirit knows what you are ready to hear,
what you need to hear,
what steps your ready to take forward in your life.
I pray that you would invite the spirit to speak to you and
especially communicate the love of the Lord for you.
What the spirit shares with you is more important than what I will say”.
Lesson from the Book of Mormon
After we have gone through this very strange year, noticed there is a particular lesson that applies in the Book of Mormon. “Never was a happier people”, referred to in 4 Nephi, after the Savior visit among the converted people evolving into peaceful, happy, and wonderful society persisted for 100 year. Unexpectedly, also in Alma chapter 50, though seems strange and odd to include “never was a happier people”.
See Chapter Headings Alma 48-50
Alma Chapter 48, Amalickiah incites the Lamanites against the Nephites—Moroni prepares his people to defend the cause of the Christians—He rejoices in liberty and freedom and is a mighty man of God.
Alma Chapter 49, The invading Lamanites are unable to take the fortified cities of Ammonihah and Noah—Amalickiah curses God and swears to drink the blood of Moroni—Helaman and his brethren continue to strengthen the Church.
Alma Chapter 50, Moroni fortifies the lands of the Nephites—They build many new cities—Wars and destructions befell the Nephites in the days of their wickedness and abominations—Morianton and his dissenters are defeated by Teancum—Nephihah dies, and his son Pahoran fills the judgment seat. We read in the same chapter, But behold there was never a happier people time since the days of Nephi, then in the days of Moroni. How so?
I’ve asked myself this many times over this year that has been filled with so much disruption in all of our lives. How in that time when there was war, disruption, and abomination say there never was a happier people? Key answer summarized within a verse in Alma Chapter 48, Captain Moroni had been preparing the minds of the people to be faithful unto the Lord their God (Alma 48:17).
Focus is Jesus Christ leads to happiness
With the difficulties, upheavals, and rioting now happening, how can we be still happy and ok?—We too can be happy, as long have focus in our lives turning our sights to Jesus Christ.
We have a Prophet today, President Nelson, remember what he has said: “The Joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances in our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives”.
“Our focus if it is Jesus Christ and becoming a follower of Jesus Christ, leads to happiness”.
First is this principle: Our happiness is linked to the first and second great commandments.
Thou shalt love the Lord God with all your heart, with all thy soul and all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment and the second is like unto it thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
On these two commandments, hang all the law and the prophets.
I think it is interesting whenever the prophets use the words every and all. Because when they or the Lord when use it leave no escape valve. On these two commandments hang all the laws of the prophets.
General Authority, Stake Leaders meeting asks, “How can you tell if someone is truly converted to Jesus Christ?”
Answer: He said in my experience there is one way you can tell if someone is truly converted to Jesus Christ is by the way they treat others.
Questioning: Really, that is the way you can tell if your converted to Jesus Christ?
Great Sermons Verifying Conversion & Treatment of Others
The Sermon on the Mount.
The Lord’s message on the temple mount at Bountiful.
Alma’s sermon message at the waters of Mormon.
King Benjamin’s sermon message to his people.
Messages of the Sermons
If your in the service of your fellow beings you are only in the service of your God.
Inasmuch as you have done it to one to the least of these my brethren you have done it unto me.
Love those that hate you.
Do good to those that despitefully use you.
Easy to talk about but a lot harder to do.
Wow all the doctrine points that out, it’s how you treat others translates into how you are converted to Christ.
Again if we go back to (Matthew 22: 37-40) on these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets:
Do we love God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all thy mind?
Do we love our neighbor as ourselves?
A fundamental characteristic about a follower of Jesus Christ is willingness to care about others. When baptized we say we will mourn with those that mourn and comfort those who need to be comforted.
Instagram, and other social medias have become electric church, alienates us.
As follower of Jesus Christ, How would we interact with those who see the world differently? Rather than just thinking about ourselves.
Love the Lord and neighbor as ourselves.
Characteristics of how we treat others.
Loving him and loving others.
Arthur Brooks, Harvard Professor, social scientist, studied a lot about giving, also spoken at BYU a couple of times.
People see you as a giver, then want to follow you.
Servant Leader, is no joke, fosters loyalty.
Secret to success, caring about others needs, see you as leader.
When see servant leadership in you, cannot help but help you.
The data on service happiness and charity giving is beyond dispute.
People who give to charity are 43 percent more likely than those who don’t give to say are very happy people.
Service makes us happier.
D&C 84: 106 And if any man among you be strong in the Spirit, let him take with him him that is weak, that he may be edified in all meekness, that he may become strong also.
Alma does for this for Amulek. Amulek famous prominent man of means, lots of friends, and kin. Joins Alma in ministry and loses his friends, family, wealth, loses everything for ministry; sacrifices, thrown into prison, tumbles around them, contend with Zeezrom, with many other significant, and serious challenges faced. Alma having seen all these things, therefore took him to his own house, and did administer unto him in his tribulations, and strengthened him in the Lord (Alma 15:18).
First Principle: Happiness how we feel about how we live 1st and 2nd Commandments, has a lot to do with how much joy we can experience and happiness we can experience.
Second Principle: We are here to progress.
Senior Church leader recounted meeting scheduled with woman insisting on meeting with him who arrived with fire in her eyes. She was mad about everything, telling about everything she did not like about the Church and said, “The Church should accept me just like I am”. To that the Church leader interrupted her and said, “You got us wrong if you think we don’t accept you as you are, we love you like you are”. “But you can’t stay as you are. Because none of us can stay like we are, because we are here to progress”.
Divinely implanted in our spirit is a desire to progress and progress by its nature means change.
Importance of service is the act of helping can trigger change, help them find the covenant path or go further along the covenant path.
So, to remind us, again about principles one and two, prior to including the third principle.
First Principle, how we feel about and live the first and second great commandments.
Second Principle, We come here to change and keep changing, it is incremental, a lot times it is tiny, little, almost imperceptible, but as long as we keep moving a little bit forward it evokes a feeling of happiness, and when we help someone else do that, it even piles on.
Third Principle, Own Divine Orbit, as referred by Elder Maxwell. We each have a mission to perform on this earth.
By divine appointment these are our days.
Though we live in a failing world we are not sent here to fail.
The star that announced the birth in Bethlehem, had been in precise orbit a long before it so shown.
We are likewise placed in human orbits to illuminate.
The Book of Mormon plates were not just put in some arbitrary location discovered by Joseph Smith.
No one lives just for themselves.
You have come with a unique capacity to reach certain people.
A unique capacity to do certain things.
We are here now in a latter part of the Latter days because we are suppose to be here now.
President George Q. Cannon, God reserved spirits for this dispensation who would have the courage and the determination to face the world and all the powers of the evil one, and who would then build up the Zion of our God fearless of all consequences. That is a descriptor of you, clearly some premortal spiritual valor was at play here for you and me to be selected to come now with unique capacities. Do you think God would have taken a chance to send herein the last days men and women he can’t count on? There is just no chance, He would have done that.
To demonstrate unique capacities, an example of how God watches over and guides us. Missionary transferred out of Guatemala after learning a rare dialect to stateside due to epidemic. Uncertain opportunities to teach unique rare language, however found family only spoke the rare dialect, already started teaching them. More than rare coincidence, you have a mission, own divine orbit.
Read about the spirits, “noble and great ones” as found in the references from both the D&C 138 and Abraham 3.
Pray and ask God about yourself as a valiant spirit being in premortal life. As you are open to receiving his answers about valiant divine nature of yourself then and now, will change yourself and change your life.
I had a heart breaking experience, deception and betrayal, thought I was going to be married. Lost friend and forced me to learn some things, deeply that the Lord could heal the wounded soul. I was one wounded soul. As pleading to the Lord, married and family. Prayed and said I would trust in his plan for me, while marriage with husband and family remain unfulfilled blessing I craved. Though unrelenting righteous desires still remaining to happen, please put me to work assisting to help build the kingdom. You can be directed to people you have unique capacity to reach and connect with. Abide by these principles of applying the two great commandments in your life with others, on journey of changing toward our divine potentials, within our divine orbitals express our willingness to care for others, trust in him, and desire to serve in building up the kingdom.
Continuation, sit down session, with Elder Scott D. Whiting and Sister Sheri L. Dew responses to questions asked prior to devotional. What most surprised or unexpectedly realized from the epidemic. Revelation, how to recognize and get better at it, etc. Included notes of the responses as well.
President Nelson said to the Sisters in last General Conference, and I think this applies to all of us:
“The Lord placed you here now, because he knew you had the capacity to negotiate the complexities of the latter part of these latter days”. When he said that there was an overwhelming feeling that that is right. We are here because we can work through these times. We have been prepared, does not always feel like it. I know. But I think we have been. I agree with you.
Power of Leadership Connecting In Love
President Nelson, has sought to prepare and strengthen us in several ways for such unique and adverse global conditions we are currently facing. Like Captain Moroni, preparation with divine perspective regardless of circumstances having gratitude. We can also so say never was a happier time as we abide correct principles and practices sustaining us spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially, as seek opportunities to serve. President Nelson during travels and visits across the globe makes connection with people, has fundamental respect for others and individuals. Can see this in his leadership and service as relates with individuals, children, and in both small and large group gatherings.
Ask Lord Teach You Language Revelation
How do you know when you receiving revelation? Was given wise counsel on righteous desires and revelation waiting on answers but uncertainty how going about getting answers from my prayers. In your prayers, have you asked how to understand better ways to recognize revelation? Revelation, can ask Heavenly Father for help in understanding how to recognize and receive revelation better, and he will answer. It is important to live in the spirit, though at times have struggles with our own fears, worries, and concerns, revelation can help us through these unique time, trials, and experiences that are a part of eternal progress.
Making Spiritual Connections
No such thing as coincidence in the church, as Elder Bednar says. I started asking, what three people can I serve? My going to Temple, started as checking off list, then saw myself have a change in desiring to attend the Temple. We also can benefit from having heart to heart conversation with someone else, is needed and important. Follow the spirit, ask who can I reach? Change happens one person at time. If you want to serve, He will use you in glorious ways.
Each Sharing Testimonies
I know the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ is real and tangible with priesthood keys as demonstrated through services we each perform. Both the Book of Mormon and Temple have saved me from feelings of being alone as a single member of the Church. I know the ministering of angels is real.
Grateful for all Single Adults and your service, as Saints. Ask and receive answer to prayers, listen to and act on impressions, and seek to be guided by the spirit. President Nelson is living prophet guiding the Church as directed by the Lord.
